SVS BAND

“Music to me is like breathing – I don’t get tired of breathing,
i don’t get tired of music” – Ray Charles

Music is a form of art. Music is also a form of entertainment that puts rhythms together in a way that people like and find it soothingly interesting.  Music is a wonderful and fulfilling life skill when practiced by our students through the band programme finds it fun and rewarding.

Band takes pride in being cynosure of all eyes for every programme that happens in the school campus. Band becomes the beginning and the conclusion of the entire programme which are organized in the school.

“Music, once admitted to the soul, becomes a sort of spirit, and never dies”.  It is sometimes required for beginners to play a recorder for a year before learning another instrument, so that basics, such as scales, embouchure, etc. can be taught easily.

“Music is the great amalgamator, an incredible force. Something that people who differ on everything and anything else, can have in common”.  Students at SVS’s music education programme generally start daily band classes from the 5th grade onwards.

Mr.Samson Diriasamy has been our guide and mentor for the elegant display of rhythmic band music on every occasion.

We would like to express our gratitude to our Principal Rev. Fr. Johny Koyikkara for his constant support for St.Vincent’s School Band
